Keep intake temps down. Keep power up.
High intake-air temperatures kill consistent power on any tuned turbocharged engine. As intake temperatures rise, the ECU must use protective strategies including ignition timing reduction, fuel enrichment, and in some conditions, reduced boost to protect the engine. The result is simple: intake temperatures climb, power drops.
The CFMOTO Z10's factory intercooler lacks its own dedicated cooling fan. Because of this, airflow across the intercooler can be limited at lower vehicle speeds, allowing it to heat soak quickly especially during aggressive riding, repeated hard acceleration and sustained high-load conditions.
